Growing up in a outgoing family always included time for art. Especially when we visited my grandmother's ceramic studio in the summer. When I was 12, I asked her if I could have everything when she was done with it. The southern Virginia "Welllll" was her response.

After earning a computer science degree and working 15 years in the IT industry, I was amongst the many downsized after the 9/11 tragedy. Unable to find a job, I felt lost.

At 92 years old, Grandma Presley rescued me with her shop. A wonderful second career began in 2002. With the promise that I would teach others and also create my own art, I moved the molds and equipment to Austin, Texas.

Ek Creations Studio was established in 2003 as a garage studio. Teaching, creating and loving clay was now my fulltime passion.
